Elections for the Heads of the National Cooperatives Federation

• Election Date & Period
  • Date of Election: The Election Commission shall decide the date for election through a discussion with the National Cooperatives Federation from 40 days to the day before the expiration of the term of office of the Heads of the National Cooperatives Federation

    ※ Repeat elections and by-elections shall be held within 30 days from the date the necessity for an election is acknowledged.

  • Election Period: From the end of the candidate registration period to Election Day

    ※ In case of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, the announcement of election shall be made 14 days before Election Day and the candidate registration period shall last for 7 days from the day after the announcement being made

    ※ In case of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, the announcement of election shall be made 16 days before Election Day and the candidate registration period shall last for 3 days from the day after the announcement being made.

  • Right to Vote:

    Representatives, Members of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation

  • Members of the General Assembly who are members of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives
  • Right to Run for Elections:

    Those who do not fall under the category of limits prescribed by the relevant laws as a member of the Cooperative that is a member of the National Cooperatives Federation

• Term of Office: 4 years
  • Heads of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation: May serve a single term of 4 years
  • Heads of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives: May serve two consecutive terms
  • Heads of the National Forestry Cooperative Federation: May serve two consecutive terms (full-time only)

  • Heads of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation

    - Distribute campaign leaflets
    
    - Seek support via phones (with text messages included) and the Internet (with e-mails included)

  • Heads of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives

    - Hold joint speech sessions or debates

    - Seek support and distribute business cards in public places designated as the properties owned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries such as roads and markets
